Discover Yogi2Me, the private yoga class app

18 December, 2017

If you haven't heard, Yogi2Me is the yoga app that lets you book a private yoga class anywhere, anytime. You choose your preferred type of yoga (from Vinyasa to Hatha, and Yin to Pregnancy), pick from a leading pool of yoga teachers, and choose your time and location. Fancy a sunrise session in the park, or a restorative nighttime session in your home?

We recently tested it with an hour long flow for two in Fitty HQ, and it was dreamy. So dreamy, that we've now got an exclusive code for you to try out:

Use code '69Y2MYOGA' when you book to get an hour private class for £69 (nearly 25% off).

The brains behind the London-based app is the lovely Sarah Drai, Executive Warrior and Co-Founder of Yogi2Me, and we sat down to find out more....

Q: What made you launch Yogi2Me?

I was a full-time banker for many years, but after finding yoga I decided to leave the 100 MPH life and become a yoga teacher. I soon came to the realisation however, that I spent more time commuting than I was teaching and after one evening coming across an app for on demand massages, the idea sparked for creating a solution for teachers to be able to “commute less teach more” by building a platform which sourced clients locally.

Q: The Yogi2Me app is a genius idea. Who’s your typical customer?

They vary... a typical Y2M customer could be a busy bee amongst the corporate world – looking for some time to unwind, sweat, and let the day go. Or someone willing to give it a go for the first time, we have lots of yoga beginners which is great!

Q: Starting yoga can be a daunting challenge. What advice do you give to people starting on their yoga journey?

Don’t think, just start. The thinking part is usually the problem haha. Yoga is not about touching your toes, yoga is about getting to know yourself and your body, and mindfully working towards a better version of yourself. Who wouldn’t wish to do that? Discover your potential.

Q: You’ve recently added a wellness offering to the app. Can you tell us a little more about this?

Many of our teachers have a wide range of skill sets, from mediation and sound healing to Thai massage. I realised we could help our teachers broaden their skills and abilities by offering all their services to our clients.

Q: As well as helping others through yoga, how do you ensure you’re always growing and expanding?

My business focus has always been quality over quantity, in all aspects. We are fully operational in zones 1 and 2 of London, now reaching out into zone 3. We opened in Twickenham and Richmond a few months ago, and January 2018 we are planning a ‘soft’ opening in Brighton.

Q: You’re a source of wisdom and inspiration for many people, but who inspires you?

My parents. They are my very first gurus. They have inspired me my whole life. My mother has always inspired me as no matter what hardship is placed before her, she remains grounded. Gentle but strong. And my father, he remains light no matter what the circumstance, never leaving his humour behind. Which is a truly admirable trait. They inspire me, every day.

Q: We’re big believers in morning rituals – how do you start your day?

First and foremost, with gratitude. Then I make myself a hot lemon water to kickstart my digestion, and to rehydrate my body. I then step outside to feel the air on my face and take a few deep breaths. This sets me up for the most important meeting of the day: my meeting with myself on my mat. I have a morning flow to reenergise, awaken and stimulate my senses. I do include a short mediation at the end and would like to include more breathing exercises consistently as I start. Lately I've started to include face yoga as part of my morning routine…soon it will take me two hours before I step out to work!

I also love my breakfast...I’ve been cold-press juicing for many years. My usual mix is orange, carrot, apple and a good dose of ginger. I sometimes add mango or a Sharon fruit, and I usually have my juice with a coffee and a baked chocolate croissant. Morning rituals are the most important to me. I am in love with early mornings!

Q: What brings you the greatest joy in your life?

Travelling, seeing new places and meeting new people. I love seeing the beauty of this world and experiencing its culture, and growing my mind.

Q: What three things couldn’t you live without?

Love. Water. Yoga. The three most powerful things to exist.

Q: What’s the best piece of yoga equipment you own?

It has to be my mat. It sees me at my best, and it sees me at my worst. My yoga mat is where all the magic takes place.

Q: What’s next for Yogi2Me?

Expansion. Moving into other big cities in Europe, and Internationally.
